Andrew Wright

Andrew Wright.jpgAndrew Wright is Managing Director - Legal for Dubai International Capital, where he is responsible for overseeing the in-house legal department and other related funds.

Andrew also provides substantive input on all transactions and portfolio investments, in addition to promoting and implementing good corporate governance with DIC and its portfolio companies.

Prior to joining the company in September 2005, Andrew was employed with two internationally recognised law firms including White & Case, based in London and then Singapore from 1996 to 2000 and Vinson & Elkins in London and Dubai from 2000 to 2005. During his employment with the law firms, Andrew gained a wealth of experience through his work on a number of high profile transactions throughout the world and particularly in the Middle East.

With over ten years of legal experience, Andrew has been involved in a broad range of commercial transactions including private equity, mergers and acquisitions, fund formation, corporate finance and project finance. Under his counsel, Andrew has represented a wide range of private companies, financial institutions and government entities in Europe, the Middle-East, Africa and the Far-East and has advised on transactions related to the power, energy, water and infrastructure industries.

Andrew has a law degree from the University of Leeds, England and a diploma in legal practice from the Guildford College of Law, England. Andrew qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1998.

He was recently nominated for “International In-house Lawyer of the Year” in the Financial News Legal Awards 2007.
