DIC Private Equity manages and grows the company’s portfolio of international buyouts, (usually secondary) and investments in international private equity funds in addition to actively seeking new international investment opportunities. Some of this division’s major investments include:
- The acquisition of Tussauds Group (UK), later sold to Blackstone following its merger with Merlin Entertainments Group, with DIC retaining 20% of the shareholding in the merged entity
- The acquisition of Doncasters (UK) which later led to the bolt-on deal with FastenTech (US) to create combined business with a leading worldwide position in turbines
- The secondary buyout of Travelodge (UK), a leading budget hotel chain
- Mauser (Germany), a world leader in industrial packaging
