Emerging Markets

DIC’s investment portfolio in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, in addition to all emerging markets, including greater MENA, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America, are managed through DIC Emerging Markets. Its investments are across asset classes varying from buyouts, listed equities, to seed capital investments, single-country and sector-specific funds. DIC envisions an AUM of over US$ 5 billion in this division within the next two to three years.

This division led the establishment of Ishraq, a US$150 million investment company that has introduced the Holiday Inn Express brand of hotels to the Gulf Co-operation Council countries; it is one of six strategy investors in Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, a US$15 billion global aerospace, manufacturing and services corporation; it has established country fund Jordan Dubai Capital, a US$300 million investment company that targets private equity opportunities in Jordan; and it has established MENA Infrastructure Fund, a US$500 million sector fund targeting investment opportunities in infrastructure projects in the Middle East and North Africa.
