Fadhel Al Ali has been with Dubai Holding since September 2004, where he started as the Chief Financial Officer.
Just a year later, Fadhel was promoted to Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Dubai Holding, before being appointed to the role of Executive Chairman for Operations in 2007. In his new role, Fadhel is responsible for providing strategic operational leadership for the group as well as ensuring the implementation of global best practices throughout the group’s key portfolio drivers.
As well as being on the board of Dubai Holding and several of its entities, including Jumeirah Group, Sama Dubai, Dubai International Capital, Dubai Group and Dubai First, Fadhel is also on the board of Directors for Dubai Bourse, Dubai Mercantile Exchange, Dubai Bank, Bank Islam in Malaysia and National Bonds.
Fadhel has a wealth of experience in the finance industry. He began a long and successful career at Citibank, where he worked as a financial analyst preparing UAE and Oman profitability reports for the bank’s head office in New York. He moved through the ranks quickly and was promoted to the UAE Consumer Credit Head in 2001, where he was responsible for managing all consumer credit units. Three years later, he was appointed as the UAE Head of Distribution, where he managed all of the bank’s branches across the UAE, before joining Dubai Holding as Chief Financial Officer in 2004.
Fadhel graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and System Engineering. He also holds a Certificate of Finance from the American University of Sharjah.
Fadhel is married with two daughters.
