In May 2006, Dubai International Capital announced the finalisation of its acquisition of UK-based Doncasters Group Limited for £700 million from Royal Bank of Scotland Equity Finance. Doncasters is a leading manufacturer of precision engineered components and systems for applications in a variety of industries.

The company, headquartered in the UK, operates 25 manufacturing facilities and employs over 4,700 people across Europe and North America.

It has an international blue chip customer base in the aerospace and industrial gas turbine industries and the automotive turbocharger and medical technologies sectors, most notably Rolls Royce.

Following its acquisition by Dubai International Capital, Doncasters acquired North American based manufacturer of precision components and fasteners, FastenTech Inc. from Courts Square Capital for a consideration of US$492 million. The combined business is a leading player in global precision engineering for the industrial gas turbine, aerospace, specialist automotive and other industries.
